[6월 4주차 이주의 노래]  Maroon5 - Won't Go Home Without You

매주 가장 많이 들었던 노래를 공유하는 코너인 '이주의 노래'. 맨 처음 블로그를 운영했을 때 적곤 했는데, 작성하지 않은지 N년이 넘었다. 이번 기회에 다시 시작하면서, 'OO년도 O월에는 이 노래를 즐겨 들었었지'란 추억을 남기고자 다시금 작성하려고 한다.

 

N년 전과 비교하면, 그전에는 노래를 다운 받거나 멜론 스트리밍으로 노래를 듣곤 했는데, 유튜브 프리미엄을 이용하면서 유튜브 뮤직 스트리밍을 가장 애용하게 되었다. 유튜브 뮤직의 가장 큰 장점이라고 하면, 내가 고른 노래와 비슷한 장르의 곡을 추천해주는 것을 꼽을 수 있다. 이를 통해 알지 못했던 숨은 명곡을 발견하는 재미에 뒤늦게 빠졌는데 마룬5의 <Won't Go Home Without You> 역시 알고리즘을 통해 알게된 곡이다.

 

마룬5는 <Sunday Morning>, <Maps>, <Memories>, <Sugar>, <Payphone> 등 지금 당장 머릿 속에 있는 유명한 곡만해도 10곡 넘게 나열할 수 있을 정도로 유명한 가수다. 한국에선 다른 팝가수와 다르게 미국에서만큼 큰 인기를 끌고 있는 가수고, 코로나 이전까지 항상 한국투어를 진행했을 만큼 한국인이 사랑하고, 한국을 사랑하는 가수다.

 

 

<Won't Go Home Without You>은 연인을 붙잡는 노래 가사인데, 들어보면 클라이막스 부분이 너무 매력적이다. 최근에야 이 노래를 알게 되었은데, 이미 마룬5가 한국 내한공연을 했을 때 관객들이 떼창하는 영상이 있었는데, 얼마나 소름이 돋던지... 괜히 애덤 리바인이 노래를 잘하는게 아니다. 그의 라이브는 진짜 CD를 튼 것과 똑같다.
